    Rather close to wires?

Well, some risk is fine, the proximity to the power cables seemed unnecessary given the width of the landing area. Though the flight was very much worth it (having landed).

OshKosh 2022 - Arrival and "The Storm"

Looks like that would be harder to drive than fly, though it would make a cool cabin.

Beechcraft E90 King Air, N515GK: Fatal Accident

That was an interesting analysis. Does seem like they were flying into reasonably known icing conditions. Wonder if the aircraft's systems might have been a bit aged and not worked as intended?

    Rather close to wires?

Lol, I wish I lived in a temperate coastal fjord, I live in Wyoming where it is way colder. I was backpacking in Norway and took a scenic flight. Generally I am little weary of such tourist flights, but thought that maybe in Northern Europe the safety parameters would be better than they are...

    A very weird looking plane

Maybe the French curve was used to mix a cocktail called the Christmas bullet and the aircraft therefore had to be designed without one? Of course when a triplane is not enough there in the Noviplano.

Again with walking into a prop!

Think it is the same video. I am still shocked people get near propellers.

    Rather close to wires?

Well, I suppose I can now comment on a picture I took. I would say it was about ten meters away from the power lines. The issue that worried me is how wind can move through these Fjords.

Ex-UK Military Pilots Paid to Help PRC Military

Granted many Americans have done the same things, but is this an example of “when it comes time to hang the capitalists, they will vie with each other for the rope contract.” BBC: UK Pilots Lured to Help Chinese Military

    United with record profits

Could not agree more, the traditional concepts of efficiency have given way to "rent seeking" by which larger companies simply manipulate the state into distorting the market to suit them.

    United with record profits

What you might see in China would be the extreme end of the Laffer Curve where work might make you worse off. Work hard, piss of local party boss by making him or her look bad and get in trouble. We see that to some extent in the US now. Imagine a recent immigrant who tries his or her hand at...

    United with record profits

As to the subject of United Airline Holdings Inc (NASDAQ UAL) posting record profits, I doubt it has anything to do with flights. United has two main businesses, government subsidies and marketing credit cards. The subsidies increased during the pandemic as did the strings attached to them...

    United with record profits

I think "lie flat" has a connotation of not simply of sloth, but keeping your head down. A strong work ethic and desire to standout are dangerous traits in most societies. Throughout most of history the dominant strategy for the average person has been mediocrity. The concept of the American...
